Beaver® Mini-Blades
Advanced Beaver® Mini-Blades are designed to enhance control and precision in a broad range of surgical procedures, while maintaining the quality customers have relied on for more than 75 years.
Advanced grindless manufacturing technology ensures consistent sharpness and blade geometry. New features are designed to make Beaver® Mini-Blades easier and safer to use:
- Patented tip design simplifies assembly, threading directly onto the handle—with no chuck collet required. Works with existing Beaver-Visitec handles. Tips are color-coded for easy identification of blade type.
- New packaging tray with integrated finger-holds allows safer assembly, with no direct contact between fingers and blade or tip.
Beaver® Mini-Blades are available in a range of familiar blade sizes and geometries.

Advances in cataract lens design, insertion techniques and phacoemulsification procedures have decreased incision size and elevated post-surgical outcomes. These areas have remained the focus of ophthalmic companies. Yet, all cataract surgical procedures begin and end with the incision. That’s why Beaver-Visitec International is fully committed to the enhancement of "incision architecture" through the research and development of innovative, high-quality and cost-effective knives and instruments.
Beaver® Xstar® Safety Knives feature a specially designed, integrated retractable shield that protects the blade in procedure and handling. Beaver® Safety Cataract Knives are designed to minimize the risk of accidental surgical blade injuries that could occur during all phases of a surgical procedure: before use, during passing, between steps of the procedure, after use, or during disposal. The shield is activated by the user through a spring-assisted slider that provides tactile and audible feedback in both the shielded and unshielded positions.
Beaver® Xstar® Safety Knives are available in slit, crescent and sideport blades in a wide range of sizes.
The Xstar® Blade technology is based on a proprietary grindless process for manufacturing surgical blades, for exceptional sharpness and consistency. Our single and double bevel blade geometry allows the cataract surgeon to create the desired incision architecture, whether the incision is scleral or corneal.

Atomic Edge™ Safety Knives
Innovative Atomic Edge™ Blade Technology
Developed through the technology and processes used in semiconductor fabrication, Atomic Edge™ silicon single-use blades deliver higher quality and performance than single-use metal blades. It is the first single-use silicon blade for ophthalmic surgery.
The Atomic Edge™ represents a breakthrough in blade technology with its single crystalline silicon molecular structure to deliver edge sharpness and performance approaching that of a diamond blade. The Atomic Edge™ blade features an edge radius of 40 nm, comparing to approximately 600 nm for metal knives, and 20 nm for diamond knives.

Atomic Edge™ Safety Knives
Atomic Edge™ safety knives are designed to combine diamond-like performance with single-use safety and convenience.
The Atomic Edge™ blade architecture is designed for incision control. The double-bevel design ensures straight penetration in single or two-plane clear cornea incision. The blade has non-sharpened parallel sides that minimize the risks of accidental side-cutting. The tip angle has been designed to produce the correct penetration depth, resisting over penetration.
Similar to Beaver® Safety Ophthalmic Knives, Atomic Edge™ knives feature an advanced retractable protective shield designed to protect healthcare professionals and to protect the blade. Atomic Edge™ Accurate Depth Knives
The same Atomic Edge™ technology is used to provide a broad range of accurate depth knives for Limbal Relaxing Incisions (LRI) and groove incisions.

Atomic Edge™ LRI Kits
This kit provides the single-use tools needed for creating limbal relaxing incisions. These products are single-use and come to you in a single package.
